Hometown Helena this Thursday, August 1: Carroll College and Helena College

July 30th, 2024

Hey y’all!

Have your gardens been growing weird lately? Danielle from Grandstreet tells me there’s a really strange plant that’s sprouted backstage. They’ve named it Audrey II and have been — ahem — experimenting with new foods for it. She and some of her actors will be visiting us Thursday to give the low-down on this botanical curiosity…

We’ll also be joined by President Cech and Dean Bauman to get some updates on Carroll and Helena College before school starts! It’s been an exciting few months in academia between FAFSA changes and the mass outages at UM. There’s always much more going on behind the scenes than we know, and these two are always hard at work making it look seamless. Students will be returning to town before you know it!

Summer is drawing nearer to a close, and I’m reminded of that fact as my events calendar dwindles. Red Ants Pants Festival this past weekend in White Sulphur Springs was glorious and dusty as always, and made much more sustainable thanks to the efforts of 406 Recycling and We Recycle Montana. We have even more fun coming up with Helena Pride and the Mann Gulch 75th Memorial this weekend! Make sure to catch the festivities, especially Miss Montana flying over the Capitol on Monday.

We’ll see you at Helena College on Thursday morning, either in person or over Zoom.
