This week's meeting will be at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 30 and feature a panel to discuss COVID 19 with guests from the Lewis & Clark County Health Department, PureView Health, and St. Peters Health including:
- Drenda Nieman, Health Officer, Lewis & Clark County Health Department
- Jill-Marie Steely, CEO of PureView Health
- Dr. Shelly Harkins of St. Peter's Health, Chief Medical Officer and President of the Regional Medical Center
*At this time, you must be on the Hometown Helena email list to receive the Zoom invite. A recording of the meeting will be posted later in the day.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on how best to move forward with Hometown Helena. We are all eager to get the program started again, and even more so, we are all grateful to Ron Mercer and Jim Cottrill for leading the charge all these years. Thank you for your years and years of dedicated service!

How Hometown Helena will operate:
1. For the time being, we will be meeting via Zoom. Meetings will be recorded, allowing those unable to attend at 7 am to still receive the information shared. Many thanks to Anderson ZurMuehlen Technology Services for their Zoom support! The link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to your email a few days prior to the meeting.
2. We are letting Ron fully retire from communications coordination. If you would like to receive updates, meeting links, and other information, we will need your email address submitted on the Hometown Helena website, HometownHelena.news. Your email will be protected and secure, and will only be used for Hometown Helena communications. You will only need to sign up one time, and we encourage you to share the sign up with others who may be interested in participating in Hometown Helena.
3. Recordings of presentations will also be posted to the website, so if you miss a meeting you can still view the program at your convenience.
Upcoming Meetings of Hometown Helena:
The next meeting will be at 7 am on Thursday, August 13, and the topic will be education preparations for the start of the school year, with presentations from Dr. Tyler Ream of Helena Public Schools, Dr. John Cech from Carroll College, and Dr. Sandra Bauman, the new dean and CEO at Helena College.
