is pleased to host today’s HomeTown Helena.

Katie Gallagher: Hi all— Katie from St. Peter’s. Want to provide a COVID19 update.
Good news first: vaccinations are once again increasing. We are doing between 40–50
per day at our Broadway Clinic. No appointment needed. FREE. This has jumped
significantly in the past few weeks. Drive thru vaccine clinic with County, PureView,
Elkhorn COAD and partners this SATURDAY from 9am - 11am in our Broadway Clinic
parking lot.

Kathy Bushnell-FS: Good morning. Here is a fire update for those who are
interested: The recent cooler (and some rainy) weather has helped minimize fire
behavior on our local fires here; although we still have a lot of fire season left. A new
Type 1 Team has come in to take over management of the Divide Complex, which
includes the following fires: Woods Creek: 46,691 acres and 5% contained; American
Fork Fire 19,523 acres and 10% contained; and Balsinger Fire is 8,614 acres and 45%
contained. Nationally, we have more than 100 large fires with 35+ Type 1 and Type 2
Teams assigned to fires across the country. Anyone can check on any fires online at

Katie Gallagher: The not good news: cases increasing — we are on the upswing of
a bell curve. Hospital and urgent care facilities are very busy. Today, 6 pts hospitalized
with COVID19–1 in ICU. Capacity & staffing an issue across all of hospitals in MT and
region...St. Peter’s has among if not the fewest patients with COVID19 among big
hospitals across the state- most in double digits (Kalispell over 20). Bottom line: get
vaccinated, wear a mask indoors and stay safe out there!

Quincey Johnson: Upper Missouri Waterkeeper is also out patrolling our rivers for
pollution events this summer. If you see something concerning, let us know and we’ll
investigate!
