Hometown Helena -- August 11, 2022: East Helena Leadership

Hometown Helena -- Thursday, August 11, 7 a.m.  @ The Montana Club & Live via ZOOM hosted by AZ Technology Services:

Message from Jim Smith:

Greetings Everyone,

Here’s some Hometown business to share with you all this morning.   We’re planning to ‘go weekly’ starting September 8th.  We’ll meet every Thursday there this fall on the 6th floor of the Montana Club.  The zoom option will also be available.  Our plan is to meet weekly this fall, until the winter weather sets in seriously.  This will allow us to invite more speakers, schedule additional topics, and allow for more interaction and discussion.  We’re busy now arranging guests and topics for the fall.

One thing we‘re going to devote some time to is the November elections.  We’ve set aside the September 29 and October 6 Hometowns to meet with candidates for office.  There are elections to federal, state and local offices in November.  On September 29th we’ll invite candidates for federal and state offices to joins us.  That would include the eastern Montana Congressional district, the Public Service Commission, and the local legislative races.  On October 6th we’ll focus on the local races:  County Commission, Attorney, Sheriff, Clerk and Recorder. That’s our thinking as of today.   We’d welcome your ideas, suggestions and recommendations for how to make these appearances meaningful and valuable for the candidates and the audience. Feel free to email your suggestions me at Jim(at)HometownHelena.news.   And please spread the word on this opportunity to meet the people seeking to lead and serve the rest of us this November.

Another thing we’re working on is a way to make on-line contributions to the Montana Club.  The Club has been good to Hometown, and we’re looking for ways for Hometown to support the Club. I gather people don’t carry cash like they used to, so an on-line option ought to be a welcome way to help Hometown and the Montana Club.  Please watch for further information on this.

Meanwhile, we have another great program lined up for this week (see below).  There is a lot going one in East Helena, our true sister city, and we’re looking forward to hearing about it.

So, please join us Thursday morning, or zoom on into Hometown Helena.  You’ll be glad you did.

Look forward to seeing you,

Jim Smith
