Hometown Helena -- Thursday, January 5, 7 a.m.  @ The Montana Club & Live via ZOOM hosted by AZ Technology Services:

Message from out Host Jim Smith:

Greetings Everyone,

We were all very sorry to learn of the death of a fine Helena gentleman, community leader, and Hometown regular, Bob Fusie, on December 28, 2022.  Let’s observe a moment of silence for Bob this Thursday, and perhaps share a few memories.  I never knew anyone who could be so animated, so positive and so persuasive at seven o’clock in the morning.  The next time you’re at the L&C county Fairgrounds multipurpose building, or the Last Chance Stampede and Rodeo, you might want to take a quiet moment to remember and thank Bob Fusie for leading the effort to raise the funds to to refurbish and rebuild the facility we enjoy today.

I like to think there is a Heavenly Hometown; and that Bob Fusie, Ellen Livers, Helen & Dr. Bill Ballinger, Gary Davis, Brian Kahn, Holly Luck and others we have known and loved and lost are there, sitting around a heavenly table drinking tea and coffee and having their usual stimulating conversations.

Meanwhile, the beat goes on here on earth.  The recent cold snap has been cussed and discussed.  It was kind of nice to experience an old fashioned Montana winter blast for the first time in several years.  Easy for me to say from the comfort of my well heated home, I know.

Likewise the 68th Session of the Montana Legislature has received plenty of coverage and discussion.  We’ll do our best to keep track of things at the Session, but it’s a fluid process that takes on a life of its own.  We’ll rely on our Helena delegation to let us know what’s going on from time to time. And we hope that when the dust settles this spring the people of Montana will have been well served by their elected leaders.

It looks as though we will have ample time this week for some good back and forth discussion at Hometown (see below).  We’d enjoy hearing from folks and learning what the New Year has in store for your organizations, your businesses, your congregations and your families.

We’re looking forward to seeing you----either in person or via the zoom---- for the first Hometown Helena of 2023.
