Hometown Helena this Thursday, October 16: American Trails

October 14, 2025

Dear Hometown Helena friends,

A big thank you to all of the candidates for joining us last week at Hometown Helena. We had great introductions from each of the City Commission and Mayoral candidates, who also fielded thoughtful questions from our audience. It was an engaging and informative morning, and is a testament to the great civics that the candidates are so available to the community in so many forums. As announced last week, there will also be a Mayoral Candidates Forum hosted by Montana Free Press this Wednesday (October 15th) evening at 6:30 p.m. at Brothers Tapworks, 40 S. Last Chance Gulch.

This week, we’re continuing that theme of local leadership and community connection with a conversation focused on trails, recreation, and access.

We’ll be joined by Bob Walker, Chair of American Trails and Treasurer of the Montana Trails Coalition, along with Tom Land from the Montana Trails Coalition. They'll share insights on their work for trails in communities across the state with policy and funding efforts.

We’ve got a packed fall schedule ahead, from community updates and nonprofit highlights to public policy conversations and local industry spotlights. More details below.

See you Thursday morning!
