You know how important kids and skiing are to me.  Finally, after sooooo many years of being involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Helena, we finally, finally have a ski event to support the program.  Please join me in having some fun on the slopes and raising money for a good cause.  Here’s the link to create your own team https://www.bbbs-helena.org/ski/ and here’s the link to just contribute to my team if you want Peter’s Ski For Kids Sake page

Either way you’re helping out a great cause that really has an impact – one kid at a time.  We are DEFEDING POTENTIAL for kids right here in Helena.  Thank you for your support! - Peter Strauss,  406-431-7220

Abridged notes from chats in today's Hometown Helena meeting on February, 2021:

HomeTown Helena 2.11.21

Anderson ZurMuehlen Technology Services, a division of Anderson ZurMuehlen, is pleased to

host today’s HomeTown Helena Zoom Meeting.

Peter Strauss: After gosh knows how many years, Big Brothers Big Sisters finally

has a ski fundraiser! Ski for Kids’ Sake is just like Bowl for Kids’ Sake on skis. People

have put together teams and during February, will be having fun on the slopes at Great

Divide! Please go to my team and support our efforts supporting Ski for Kids Sake or

go to our BBBS-Helena.org website and create your own team. [Click here to support Peter's skiing for a cause!]

Andrea Groom: Morning Everyone! St. Peter's Health and our many partners

continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible community members. Help us

support local restaurants and fuel these volunteers through a meal donation @

https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/k5252v

Emily McVey United Way: Free Tax Help Info - there are limited in person options this

year so please spread the word about what is available. Info and flier on our website

https://unitedwaylca.org/.

Emily McVey United Way: We are also looking for nonprofits, church groups etc to help

provide snacks at the vaccination clinics Tues-Fri weekly. Lots of hot cocoa needed this

week! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040d4dafac23a2ff2-snack

Doug Mitchell: Olympic National Park even posted about the Headwaters podcast

this week … it is now #13 on the Apple platform for science podcasts … just behind Nat

Geo and ahead of Bill Nye :)

President Cech: Wonderful presentation! Sorry I need to log off to get to a Board meeting. Have

a great week!

Sean Logan: I would like to really emphasize City Manager Harlow-Schalk's putting

forward a new tool that can be used by citizens to engage their City government about

their budget and other matters. Please visit - https://beheardhelena.com/ or the link

Rachel provided. Thanks! Sean

Matt Elsaesser, 406 Recycling/Compost: Headwaters Podcast!

Bruce Whittenberg: Aw shucks, Doug. Thanks for the shout. Glad you're doing well

and doing GOOD. Thanks for the great work.

Matt Elsaesser, 406 Recycling/Compost: Today's Hometown Helena will be

posted at www.HometownHelena.news later this morning. A chat summary will also be

included.

Peter Strauss: Doesn't look like we'll get to announcements - which is OK because

Tyler and Super. Mow have been great! Help Big Brothers Big Sisters keep our

program to help kids going - Peter’s Ski For Kids’ Sake page. Every little bit, helps

make a BIG difference.

Mary Rutherford: Please help spread the word about The Snowbird Fund — a new

fund to help families searching for Indigenous missing loved ones. More info can be

found at MTCF.org
