Greetings Everyone,
"The fog crept in on little cat feet.” Last night. I think that’s a line from a Carl Sandburg poem. Or maybe it’s the whole poem? Please be careful out there, especially if you’re driving this morning. I can barely see across Saddle Drive this morning, as I type this message.
We’re going to have a relaxing, enjoyable Hometown Helena this week. We won’t have a special guest or program. We will have ample time for introductions, announcements and a general discussion. This week, let’s just visit with each other and talk among ourselves.
I thought people might share their family holiday plans and traditions with the group this week. Is anyone planning to travel over Christmas? Are any relatives or guests coming from out of of town? What special meals will you be preparing over the holidays? What are your family traditions at this time of the year? Who goes to the movies of Christmas Day? Or, who watches what at home? What makes this time of year meaningful to you and yours? Invite a friend and introduce your guest to the folks. Bring a story to share.
And then on December 21st we are having a Hometown Helena Christmas Concert, courtesy of Mr. Zach Harris and the HHS.CHS Student Choir. Thursday the 21st will be the last day before the Christmas break, so we really appreciate Mr. Harris and the students being willing to share their time and their music with us on the last day of classes. This will be a really fun Hometown Helena.
Please plan to join the group this Thursday (12/14) and next Thursday (12/21), in person on the 6th floor of the Montana Club, or via the miracle of zoom, courtesy of Aja Rail and Pinion Global, Inc. We will not meet on December 28th. But we’ll be back in 2024, and ready for a New Year.
Myself, and your little Hometown Helena planning group, wish you and yours the happiest of holidays and best wishes for a healthy and prosperous New Year.
