Hey y’all!
We’ve got another great program this week, focused around the different ways that we can support our community’s children and young adults. The Angel Fund and Communities that Care are both committed to fostering a healthful, safe, and stable environment for our kiddos, and they’re doing some really interesting things here in Helena.
Janet Riis will be giving us an update on the Angel Fund, which helps Helena School District children with school items including clothing, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, classroom materials, field trip fees and other scholastic necessities. The Angel Fund also offers Montana post-secondary scholarships to deserving seniors at Access to Success, Capital High School, Helena High School, East Helena High School and PAL based on academic success, financial need and a commitment to give back to their community.
Sarah Graham will be telling us about Communities that Care, a program that promotes healthy youth development, improves youth outcomes, and reduces problem behaviors through community partnerships.
We have good news to share with you, too! Our dear friend Jim Smith is on his way home as we write this and had successful heart surgery. He’ll be taking it easy for a little while with some protocols to follow, but is in good spirits, and we will be hearing from him soon!
See you Thursday, either in person or through the lens of our Zoom camera. And remember — polls are open until 8pm today! Don’t forget to vote!
